Irena Brichta is, at present, managing her own senior management Executive Search firm in the Czech Republic, after being Country Manager, Czech Republic & Slovakia of Hudson (former TMP Worldwide) for 3 years; 4 years as Managing Partner, Czech Republic & Slovakia for Heidrick & Struggles and 3.5 years as a consultant at Egon Zehnder International; all positions based in Prague.

Prior to her career in senior level Executive Search, Irena had been a senior sales & marketing professional for two major international companies: 13 years for Johnson & Johnson Inc. responsible for the Ethicon suture business across the CEE Region, then 2 years as Head of all the J&J medical franchises in Hungary after the Berlin Wall came down. Irena was then herself ‘headhunted’ and became Sales Director, Kraft Jacobs Suchard in Budapest for 2 years. After 4 years in Budapest, Irena came to Prague to join EZI in 1994 to help establish and develop their Prague Office, beginning her career in senior level recruitment.

Since late 2005, Irena has been heading her own senior level recruitment firm, and has been helping clients with their senior level recruitment needs in the Czech Republic and across the CEE region for the last 12 years. Irena has conducted a significant number of senior management assignments in the CEE Region, focused mainly in the Czech Republic & Slovakia, but also in Hungary, Rumania, Russia etc working principally for major multinational clients in healthcare, consumer goods, manufacturing, financial services including private equity funds and banking, professional services, industry, energy, IT & Telco.

Irena is a Supervisory Board Member of Junior Achievement, a Board Member of ICN – Information Centre for Not-for-profit Organisations, as well as being active in a number of other business and sports organisations.

Irena is a British/Czech national (her parents came to the UK after 1948), born and educated in Britain, attending the University of Glasgow where she gained an MA in Czech & Archaeology, and subsequently an MBA at the Strathclyde Business School after a British Council Scholarship year at Brno University. She is bilingual in English & Czech; speaks intermediate French, German and Polish, with some Hungarian.
